In Memory of Bobo

This was my mother's cousin who was shot down over the English Channel near Beachy Head, Sussex, England on May 19, 1942. He joined the RCAF and then later the RAF in the 133rd Eagle Squadron.

My mother still talks about him and although I never knew him, he still seems like such a part of our family. I guess it's true that as long as there are people who remember you, you never really die.

So this is just a little tribute to Robert Lewis Pewitt,22 years old, shot down in his Spitfire, 66 years ago this month. A real hero, only "a thousand times better"!

Nice tribute.

I'm researching Americans, like Robert Pewitt, who served with the RAF and RCAF during WWII.
